Automotive Cigarette lighter from the 1930's or 40's Black Bakelite - 6 Volt
. Found this lighter while cleaning up some boxes in my garage that was built in 1929. It works by pushing and holding the spring loaded bakelite housing in. Once you stop pushing, it cuts power to the heating element.
It looks like an aftermarket lighter, there are no makers marks on it. It has surface rust and age related wear however it worked when hooked up to a 6 volt battery charger.
